FREQUESNTLY ASKED

QUESTIONS

What is difference difference between an Heirloom Vignette portrait and a regular portrait?

Heirloom portraits are your classic vignette photos using a white back drop and some directed lighting, capturing 3/4 of the body sitting. Regular portraits may be located indoor or outdoors and will most likely capture more of the subject's body without using any vignette in the final edit.

What is included in the sitting fee?

The sitting fee includes the time spent during the session, as well as edited images from the specific package chosen during the booking process.

What age range is best for heirloom portraits?

There really isn’t a “preferred age”. I would suggest waiting until your child is able to sit up on his/her own, as well as smile on command for the best results. There is also no cap age limit. I can do high school students and even grandparents if you would like.  It is really up to you as to what age(s) you want to capture in this style.

My child is really difficult when it comes to taking pictures, I’m worried you won’t be able to get a good shot of them.

I will never give up on a session. We will get the shot. I may ask for the parent(s) to step outside the room to listen or roam instead of watch, but we promise to have the most enjoyable, pleasant of session as possible.

How long does the session usually take?

I allot 15-30 minutes per session. Usually sessions with older children tend to go quicker. If we need to, we will play or give the child a break and retry after a few minutes. There is no extra charge if we go past 30 minutes.

What would you recommend dressing my child in?

For best results of the classic Heirloom look, I would suggest dressing your child in an authentic Heirloom style outfit. Whites, creams and pastel shades of blue and pink tend to look best in these photos. If you do not own a Heirloom style dress/outfit, a simple nice outfit will work perfectly fine. For older children, I would suggest a nice dress shirt for boys and a classy dress/top for girls. Please make sure hair is being pulled from the face using a bow/clip.

Does it matter what type of shoes they are wearing?

Nope! Children can come barefoot if they would like. The final portrait is only visible from the waist up.
